Contract Hire

Fixed term, fixed monthly cost with a low deposit.  Deposit is normally termed as advanced rental and followed by a fixed number of subsequent rentals over a two/four year period.  Rentals are subject to V.A.T. Monthly rentals are calculated on the customer's annual mileage.  Full maintenance including all routine servicing and breakdown repairs can be included in the contract for a fixed monthly cost as well as motor club membership.  Available for VAT registered businesses only. Tax Implications On a passenger vehicle only 50% of the VAT is reclaimable unless the vehicle is solely for business use, then 100% is reclaimable.  On commercial vehicles 100% VAT is reclaimable.  Rentals can be offset against taxable profits.  Does not show on balance sheet.  The company car driver will pay 'benefit in kind' tax based on CO² emissions of the vehicle.
